The official opening took place on May 5 at the Nizhnevartovsk District Clinical Children’s Hospital. As part of the kinesitherapy programme, the Ostrova Charitable Foundation supported the Project of local patient’s organisation «Vtoroye Dykhaniye» to establish the facility and has provided funds to purchase sports and other special equipment. Ostrova also provided financial support for two kinesitherapists, who led kinesitherapy workshops for parents and adult patients with cystic fibrosis.
Before the facility opened, the Nizhnevartovsk District Clinical Children’s Hospital hosted a roundtable on the topic Specialised Medical Assistance and Rehabilitation for Children and Adult Patients Suffering from Cystic Fibrosis in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District – Yugra.
A total of 40 people participated in the roundtable, including representatives from the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District – Yugra Health Department, hospital administrators, physicians from other cities in Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District – Yugra, representatives of the regional patient organization and the Ostrova Charitable Foundation, and representatives from the media.
