Blue Balloons, an event to raise awareness about cystic fibrosis, was held in Tyumen on Children’s Day, 1 June. The event was organized by Dyshi so Mnoi [Breathe with Me], the Tyumen association for sufferers of cystic fibrosis. This was the first time such an event was held in Tyumen, and it was possible thanks in large part to the active participation of the region’s parents of children with CF.
During the event, information pamphlets about cystic fibrosis and blue balloons with the organization’s logo were handed out, people could get their faces painted, and even a charity flea market was set up. All of the proceeds from the market went to purchasing high-calorie food for children with cystic fibrosis in Tyumen and Tyumen region.
According to the organizers, the goal of the event was to raise awareness of the problems sufferers of cystic fibrosis face and to educate the city’s inhabitants about the disease. In their opinion, this was certainly accomplished. Participants actively engaged in the event, asked a lot of questions about cystic fibrosis, and donated to the organization.
