Help can come in a variety of ways

In today’s world, volunteers can help in a large variety of different ways and in different areas. Volunteers need not always contribute money in order to help. It is sometimes at least as important to contribute one’s time, talents, and knowledge.

For example, Valeria Kolycheva, who works at the French Institute in St Petersburg and is raising a child with cystic fibrosis, decided to help and translated from French to Russian two books on proper nutrition for people with this disease published by the Belgian Cystic Fibrosis Association.

The Ostrova Charitable Foundation published the books under its Cystic Fibrosis Info programme, and is providing them free of charge to all interested readers – doctors, patients, and parents. We are grateful to Valeria for her excellent work and commitment to the effort and hope to be able to work with her again in the future!

We would also like to thank the Abbott company, which provided financial assistance for publishing the books.
