On 22 October 2016, a scientific and practical conference on Cystic Fibrosis: an interdisciplinary approach to diagnostics and therapy of complications was held at the Clinics of the State Budgetary Educational Institution for Higher Professional Education Samara State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation (Samara).
The conference speakers included lecturers from Moscow, St Petersburg and Samara working with different aspects of treating cystic fibrosis in adults and children.
The conference included a workshop on kinesitherapy for patients and their parents and a group meeting with a medical psychologist on the subject Cystic Fibrosis: recognition and acceptance of diagnosis by parents and relatives.
In total, the conference was attended by about 100 people, including doctors of different disciplines from Samara, the Samara and Ulyanovsk regions, as well as parents of CF patients.
The event was organized with financial support from the OstrovaCharitable Foundation as part of the programme by Helping CF Patients Samara’s Regional Public Organization, which won the Initiative 2016 contest.
