The training, Physiotherapy exercises and sports medicine, which was organized by Pavlov First Saint Petersburg State Medical University at St Olga City Children’s Hospital (St Petersburg), took place from 24 October to 3 November.
Anna V. Udalova, a pulmonologist and Head of the Division of Pulmonology and Allergology at Kirov Children´s Clinical Hospital, took part in this training. Ostrova paid for her training, travel, and hotel expenses.
During the training, which was led by exercise therapy doctor, Vladimir S. Matveev, Anna V. Udalova became familiarized with the methods and techniques of physiotherapy exercises and kinesiotherapy for patients of various age groups suffering from cystic fibrosis.
There is a kinesiotherapy room at the Kirov Region Children’s Hospital, where sessions for children with cystic fibrosis are carried out under the supervision of a physiotherapy instructor. There are a total of 35 children with this diagnosis in Kirov Region. Upon completing the training, the doctor is granted with an official certificate, which permits them to use these new skills when treating patients with cystic fibrosis.
