Kinesitheraphy education held in St Petersburg

On 14 to 25 November 2016, at the St Olga City Children’s Hospital, a course was held on Pressing issues of physical rehabilitation. Kinesiatrics for chronic lung diseases conducted by Vladimir Matveev, physical therapy and sports medicine specialist, kinesiatrics specialist of the St Olga City Children’s Hospital.  

Kinesiatrics is one of the most effective methods for excreting sputum from the lungs of Cystic Fibrosis patients. Given regular and high quality kinesiatrics, recurrence risk is mitigated and the respiratory function of the lungs improved.

Under the Kinesiatrics Programme, the Ostrova Foundation provided financial support, paid educational travel and accommodation costs for six specialists from Moscow, Voronezh, Syktyvkar, Chita and Nyagan.

On completing the course, all the participants will receive government-issued certificates and can apply the knowledge they have gained in their routine work with cystic fibrosis patients.
