On 5 October 2016, at the N.V. Sklifosovsky Research Institute of Emergency Medicine, surgery was carried out to transplant lungs into Evgeniy Popovich (27 yrs). Evgeniy was diagnosed with сystic fibrosis at the age of five.
Since June 2016, Evgeniy has been the participant of the Transplantation Charity Programme of the Ostrova Foundation. Within its scope, he received a high calorie diet in order to gain weight before undergoing surgery. Now Evgeniy is back home and feels well.
We wish Evgeniy a successful recovery and return to an active life.
