Three bacteriologists completed training in Moscow thanks to the support of the Ostrova Foundation

As part of a Training -program, the Ostrova Charitable Foundation helped organise studies at I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University for three doctors who are bacteriologists.

In January 2017, Olga Kanishcheva (city of Belgorod, regional children’s clinical hospital), Anna Kulikova (city of Rostov-on-Don, regional children’s clinical hospital) and Yulia Kulikova (city of Murmansk, Murmansk regional clinical hospital named for Bayandin) completed training in a series of bacteriology courses which are organized annually by the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.

During training, participants could not only listen to lectures about new developments in microbiological diagnosis, including in the field of cystic fibrosis, but could also put their knowledge to use in a practicum. Laboratory studies were conducted at the Federal Research and Development Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named for N. F. Gamaleya, where the participants had the opportunity to conduct an analysis of phlegm samples brought by patients from their regions.
