On March 17, an interregional research and training conference on cystic fibrosis was held in Syktyvkar for the first time in 30 years.
Physicians, pulmonologists, gastroenterologists, bacteriologists, and doctors from other related specialties gathered in the conference hall at the Republic’s Children’s Clinical Hospital. There were more than 60 professionals who had experience with this condition in their medical practice.
Thanks to the support of the Ostrova Charitable Foundation, doctors from remote regions of Komi Republic, such as Vorkuta, Pechora, Inta, and Usogorsk, were also able to attend the conference. Doctors from Ust-Usinski region took part in the conference online.
A representative from the Ministry of Health for Komi Republic opened the conference.
The speakers expressed gratitude to the participants for their active participation, engagement, and eager discussion. The Ministry of Health will distribute summaries of all the presentations to medical institutions in Komi Republic that are treating patients with cystic fibrosis.
