The Interregional Research and Training Conference, “Pressing issues of pulmonology for children and adults living with cystic fibrosis”, was held in Kazan on April 27.
The conference was opened by Rafael Shavaliev (Ph.D, chief medical officer of the Children’s Clinical Hospital of the Republic of Tatarstan).
In addition to the traditional panel reports, the conference also included two workshops for doctors and a roundtable discussion for parents. They were focused on the most pressing issues of psychological care. There are twelve staff psychologists working in the hospital and significant attention is given to the mental health of patients!
During the event, guests were invited to visit the Children’s Cystic Fibrosis Center.
The department is equipped in accordance with all requirements and standards. There is a kinesiotherapy room that is actively helping patients and the laboratory uses a pneumatic tube transport system for specimen collection. The center’s kinesiotherapy room is one of the first opened with the support of the Ostrova Charitable Foundation, as part of the “Initiative” program.
The packed room and actively engaged audience once again underscore the relevance of the topics discussed. It is nice to know that the conference was attended not only by local professionals, but also by doctors from Naberezhnye Chelny and Ufa, as well as by patient organization executives from these cities.
We would like to thank everyone for their warm reception and sincere interest, and for all the hard work they do to improve the lives of cystic fibrosis patients.
