The information was provided by Air of the Far East, Khabarovsk Krai’s public organization for the treatment of patients with cystic fibrosis.
Last year, a group of parents in the Khabarovsk Territory established Air of the Far East (Air DV), a non-profit organization for the treatment of patients with cystic fibrosis.
The main objectives of the Organization are as follows:
• Increase awareness by the region’s inhabitants about cystic fibrosis and the course of the disease;
• Interact with the medical community and assist in improving doctors’ qualifications;
• Provide comprehensive assistance and support; assist and participate in social and medical rehabilitation; improve the financial situation of people with disabilities and patients with cystic fibrosis;
• Optimize the social integration of cystic fibrosis patients in society.
During the six months that Air DV has been in existence, several meetings of parents with specialists in the field of CF (a psychologist of the Tsarina Alexandra Fund and the leading pulmonologist in Khabarovsk) were organized to discuss problems associated with the treatment and social development of patients with CF. Working contacts were established with the Ministry of Health of the Khabarovsk Krai, and an opportunity developed to quickly solve problems with pharmacological support for patients.
