Patients with cystic fibrosis in St. Petersburg will be provided with inhalers

Changes in social code have expanded the range of available support measures. However, we expect clarifications of the implementation mechanisms.

Since their diagnosis, patients with cystic fibrosis require regular inhalations of mucolytics and continue to rely on them all their life. Federal budget funds the purchase of the necessary medicines, but patients are not provided with technical means of medicine delivery to the bronchi, i.e. inhalers/nebulizers.

During the discussion and clarification of details, vice-governor Anna Mityanina suggested to resolve the existing controversy and update current social code of St. Petersburg. On March 7, 2019, amendments to the law were adopted and measures of additional social support were prescribed.
