The Kinesitherapy program is implemented as a competition and is aimed at developing the use of kinesitherapy in the Russian regions.
Kinesitherapy, which acts by clearing mucus from the lungs of patients, is a basic and highly — if not the most — effective method of CF complication prevention. It was not in use in the regions of Russia, however, prior to the introduction of this program.
Purposes: the competition is dedicated to helping relevant medical practitioners in the Russian regions, through the provision of training up kinesitherapy (KT) specialists, and organizing and equipping KT facilities in which patients can attend free lessons on maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Competition geography and timelines: The competition is held annually and covers the whole territory of the Russian Federation.
