In Tver on September 14, a training session for parents of children with cystic fibrosis was held under the auspices of the Ostrova Charitable Foundation.
Topics covered included diagnostics, CF treatment and screening, diet, and enzyme therapy. Also discussed were the prospects for advancements in such fields as kinesiotherapy and the use of inhalation equipment and respiratory exercisers for CF patients.
During the session, the participants had an opportunity to discuss microbiology, produce sputum for analysis, and talk about difficult situations arising from the treatment of CF with a medical psychologist from a mental health working group of the European Cystic Fibrosis Society.
“We knew a lot, but now we know even more!” said one of the participants as the meeting ended.
