In September, the 1st Adult Cystic Fibrosis International Workshop was held in Milan.
The Ostrova Charitable Foundation served as an media partner for the event and partially covered the expenses of the Russian participants. Unfortunately, few specialists in Russia speak English at the level required for participation. Still, four specialists from Russia took part in the workshop:
Elena Amelina, Cand. Med. Sci., Cystic Fibrosis Laboratory head at the Research Institute of Pulmonology of the Russian Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA); Stanislav Krasovsky, Cand. Med. Sci., researcher at the Cystic Fibrosis Laboratory of the FMBA; and Viktoria Makhmutova, pulmonary specialist at Municipal Multidisciplinary Hospital No. 2 in St. Petersburg. Kristina Maldesovna Kardava, a teaching assistant in the Department of Microbiology of the I. P. Pavlov First St. Petersburg State Medical University had a poster presentation during the workshop. Our specialists found the event very informative. All of the participants felt inspired by such a practice-oriented workshop.
